Description

The KeysNotToRestore subkey specifies the names of those registry subkeys and entries that Backup will not restore.

Each of the entries has the following format:

The paths are relative from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM and can take one of three forms:

  • A path ending with "\" indicates that neither the subkey nor any of its subkeys or entries will be restored from the backup. Instead, the current values will be preserved.

  • A path ending with "\*" indicates that neither the subkey nor any of its subkeys and entries will be restored from the backup, but new entries will be merged from the backup.

  • A path ending with an entry name indicates that the entry will not be restored from the backup.

  • Do not change the values of the entries in this subkey. Altering these values can prevent Backup from successfully backing up or restoring data.
