Configure telephony service providers on a telephony server

To configure telephony service providers on a telephony server

  1. Open Telephony.

  2. In the console tree, click the server you want to manage.

    Where?

    • Telephony/server
  3. On the Action menu, click Manage Providers.

  4. Click the telephony service provider you want to configure, and then click Configure.

    If Configure is not available, then the telephony service provider has no configurable properties.

Notes

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must be designated as a telephony administrator (for information about designating telephony administrators, see Related Topics). If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.For more information, see Default local groups, Default groups, and Using Run as.

  • To open Telephony, click Start, click Run, and then type tapimgmt.msc.

  • The settings you can change depend on the telephony service provider.

  • You can also configure telephony service providers on the local computer using Phone and Modem Options in Control Panel. For more information, see Related Topics.
