Allow Only Authenticated Messages on Queues
Applies To: Windows Server 2008
You can use this procedure to allow only authenticated messages to be sent to a Message Queuing queue. To increase security and prevent unauthenticated messages from being sent to the queue, configure the queue to accept only authenticated messages.
Membership in <Domain>\Domain Users, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.
To allow only authenticated messages to be sent to a Message Queuing queue
Click Start, point to Run, type compmgmt.msc, and press ENTER to display the Computer Management MMC console.
In the console tree, right-click the applicable queue.
Where?
- Computer Management/Services and Applications/Message Queuing/YourQueueFolder (such as Public Queues or Private Queues)/YourQueue
Click Properties.
On the General page, select the Authenticated check box. Or, to accept any messages on the queue, clear the Authenticated check box.
Additional considerations
If you select the Authenticated check box, the queue accepts only authenticated messages.
You can also perform this task using the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. For more information, see Additional references.
