Remove a DNS Server from a DNS Application Directory Partition

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

You can perform this procedure when you no longer want the Domain Name System (DNS) server to participate in replication of a DNS application directory partition. You cannot remove a DNS server from the DomainDnsZones or ForestDnsZones application directory partitions.

Membership in DnsAdmins or Domain Admins in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).
