Create governanceInvitation

Namespace: microsoft.graph

Create a new governanceInvitation to establish a governance relationship with a governed tenant. Invitations provide an alternative mechanism to governance requests for initiating relationships.

Permissions

Choose the permission or permissions marked as least privileged for this API. Use a higher privileged permission or permissions only if your app requires it. For details about delegated and application permissions, see Permission types. To learn more about these permissions, see the permissions reference.

Important

For delegated access using work or school accounts, the signed-in user must be assigned a supported Microsoft Entra role. Tenant Governance Administrator is the least privileged role supported for this operation.

Request body

In the request body, supply a JSON representation of the microsoft.graph.governanceInvitation object.

You can specify the following properties when creating a governanceInvitation.

governingTenantId String The Microsoft Entra tenant ID of the governing tenant. Required.

Response

If successful, this method returns a 201 Created response code and a microsoft.graph.governanceInvitation object in the response body.
