My System

Windows 10 Pro 22H2 Digital License

Constant failure to upgrade to Windows 11 (Error Fix 0x80004005)

Scenario:
Upgrading in place to Windows 11 proceeds without any errors. At the final step, the reboot for the definitive installation of Windows 11, I receive an error message: "Unable to install Windows 11." No explanation. Nothing.

Helpful Information:

  1. Available disk space: 1 terabyte.
  2. All peripherals disconnected except for mouse and keyboard.
  3. SFC /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth = no errors found.
  4. Windows Update Troubleshooter = no issues detected.
  5. Cleared Windows Update cache before starting the upgrade.
  6. Compatibility Appraiser service activated.
  7. All peripheral drivers are updated.
  8. No third-party antivirus installed.
  9. The system is 100% compatible with the Windows 11 upgrade (it is even recommended by Windows Update).

Performing a clean install of Windows 11 would be a huge hassle. Can anyone help me out?

    thank you very much mate.

In the AI era, when the machine should help the human and not the opposite.

Without any explanation nor clue I have to format my pc and re-install the OS.

    Thank you Microsoft.

This is not caused by a problem with your licence, that would not cause the update to fail.

If that method is continually failing, and there is no indication of what is causing the update to fail, really the only way to upgrade to Windows 11 would be to backup your files and clean install Windows 11 from a bootable USB, it is a big job.

The only problem I see in your screenshot is that Secure Boot is not enabled in your BIOS, it may be best to enable that in BIOS, then try the Windows 11 ISO method again to see if it then succeeds, there is no other problem indicated on your system.

I thank you for the help, enabled Secure Boot and for , i think , the 12th time Windows 11 upgrade failed.

Can it be a problem with the license? I mean, I bought the pc with a preinstalled Win10. System says it's licensed, but can it be a fake license?
