Printing to Text

Yes, you can still print to a file in Windows 8.  Very handy.

  • Start | Control Panel | Devices | Printers | Add Printer
  • Click on ‘The printer that I want isn’t listed’
  • Click on ‘Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings’
  • Use an existing port: FILE (Print to File)
  • Manufacturer: Generic, Printer: Generic / Text Only

That’s it!
