New Features

  • Natural Language to script is now available in preview for the following scripting actions:

    • Run DOS command
    • Run VBScript
    • Run JavaScript
    • Run PowerShell script
    • Run Python script

…so that you can generate the script you need by describing it.

  • Copilot’s generative answers are now available in preview in the console and the designer, so that you can get answers to your questions about the usage of Power Automate for desktop.

  • New dedicated actions for the SAP GUI application are now available out of the box, allowing users to login and perform certain activities therein.

Enhancements & Improvements

  • The flow designer now leverages the design of schema v.2, in order to load and cache each image screenshot individually to reduce the initial loading time.

  • In the action ‘Get current date and time’, the ‘Time zone’ parameter now comes with two additional options, Windows time zone and Custom input. Furthermore, the option Specific time zone will be deprecated soon.

  • The web automation category in the troubleshooter has been further enhanced, so that it can also check on the web extension required for each installed browser.

  • The action ‘Requeue item and add delay’ has now been renamed to ‘Requeue item with delay’.

Repaired Functionality

The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:

  • Some issues occurring when adding desktop flows to solutions (involving the flows’ binaries like the UI elements and images repositories etc.), while using the v.2 schema, have now been resolved. Any such new binaries, created after editing the flow and adding some new elements, are now automatically added to the solution upon flow save.

  • In schema v.2, screenshots of UI elements and images are now properly included, when the desktop flow is added to a solution and the solution is imported to a new environment.

  • When trying to run a flow with a deleted child flow, the user now encounters the proper message about missing dependencies, rather than an unhandled exception.

  • An issue that occurred when running desktop flows with certain connector operations involving paging from the cloud, has now been resolved.

  • An issue with the ‘Invoke web service’ action failing, when the parameter ‘Accept untrusted certificates’ is enabled and no revocation check is added in the registry (registry key set to 0), has now been resolved.

  • The tooltip of the parameter ‘Fail after timeout’ in the action ‘Run DOS command’ has now been corrected.

  • The escaped ‘%’ character is now handled properly when testing custom selectors.

  • The selector ‘Repair’ functionality now works as expected for selectors of UI elements captured in RDP sessions.

  • Populating a browser URL address bar during recording now works as expected and doesn’t lead to inconsistent pauses of the recording session.

  • The recorder can now properly capture elements in certain websites in IE or IE mode in Edge where relevant issues occurred.

  • Repairing a selector now produces the expected result, when the ordinal of the new selector should be included.

  • After capturing some UI elements in the UI element picker window and then clicking on Cancel, clicking on the Close (X) button of the confirmation dialog now refocuses the UI element picker window instead of closing it.

  • While in the ‘Inspect UI elements’ view of the UI element picker window, pressing Ctrl + Left click now also works to capture a highlighted UI element.

  • Right clicking on an element while capturing elements now makes it remain highlighted, apart from bringing up the context menu, where the ‘Capture’ option is now also available.

  • If a web browser instance has been closed, and later in the flow an action ‘If web page contains’ or ‘Wait for web page content’ is used referencing the previous instance, the action now returns False instead of throwing an error.

Other announcements

  • The troubleshooter has now become generally available for all users.

  • Work queue actions have now become generally available for all premium users.
