Delete an Object Type

For this procedure, in Metaverse Designer, you can delete a metaverse object type and its attributes. For optimum performance, your metaverse should retain only those object types and attributes that will be in use. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the FIMSyncAdmins security group.

To delete an object type

  1. On the Tools menu, click Metaverse Designer.

  2. In Object types, click the object that you want to delete.

  3. In Actions, click Delete Object Type.

Note

You cannot delete an object type or attribute that has join, projection, import or export attribute flow rules configured for it.

Note

When deleting an object type, attributes belonging only to that object type will be deleted. If an attribute belongs to both an object type being deleted, and to another object type that will be retained, the attribute will not be deleted.
