Remarks

The CmsDataFormWebPart object provides a platform for the three Publishing Web Parts: Summary Links, Content By Query, and Table of Contents. You can customize the HTML output of publishing Web Parts by using XSLT transformations. Web Parts that inherit from the CmsDataFormWebPart will have the benefit of a cached XSLT transformation that increases XSLT performance.
