Use the GetItemType method to determine the type of an item in a SharePoint library. The following table lists the various item types.

Item type	Description
Unknown	An item not associated with any known type.
Folder	A folder.
Report	A report.
Resource	A resource.
DataSource	A data source.
Site	A SharePoint site.
