Running DPM 2010 Prerequisite Checker
Avviso
The Prerequisite Checker tool does not run if you have a DPM protection agent, DPM Management Shell, or DPM Support files installed on the computer.
Double-click the self-extractor that you downloaded to begin the installation process. The self-extractor extracts the installation files to the disk with the largest amount of free space.
Accept the Microsoft Software License Terms, and then click Next.
The tool installs VCRedist 2008, enables the Windows PowerShell role, and then installs Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
The tool now prompts you for your instance of Microsoft SQL Server. If you select the dedicated instance, it lets DPM install that instance. If you select to use an existing instance, you must provide the name of the instance and the user credentials.
The tool installs Windows Error Reporting.
Nota
The tool installs Windows Error Reporting even if it exists on your computer.
The tool performs the following checks and installs them if they are not installed already on your computer:
Single Instance Store (SIS)
Windows Installer 4.5
KB 975759
In the final step, you can start the SQL Server Configuration Checker. If you do, you must provide the location of the SQL Server Setup files.

You can find the logs that the tool generates in <system drive>:\DPMLogs.
