Logon Scripts
Logon scripts are groups of commands that run when a user logs on to a computer. Administrators design logon scripts to automate the process of configuring a user environment. Administrators use the tools described below to manage logon scripts for individual user accounts, especially those defined locally.
For help with specific tasks, see Logon Scripts How To....
For general background information, see Logon Scripts Concepts.
Administrators use a different set of tools to manage scripts for groups of users and computers defined in Active Directory®. For more information about Group Policy startup, shutdown, logon, and logoff scripts, see Group Policy (pre-GPMC).
