Depends Remarks
Configuring Depends
When you first run Depends, it registers itself with your system as a handler for all Win32 binary files. This causes a View Dependencies item to be added to the system's context menu. You must configure which file extensions Depends handles by opening the Options menu and adding file extensions in the Handled File Extensions dialog box. Then, when you right-click a Win32 module file in Windows Explorer, View Dependencies is displayed as one of the options.
Opening a File in Depends
To open a file in Depends, use one of four methods:
Right-click a module file in Windows Explorer and choose View Dependencies from the context menu. This requires that you configure Depends to handle certain file extensions. To do this, in Depends on the View menu, click Handled File Extensions.
In Depends on the File menu, click Open.
Drag and drop a file on top of the Depends main window.
At the command prompt, type depends followed by the name of the file to be viewed.
Getting Help on Depends
To get help on Depends while running the tool, open the table of contents by using one of two methods:
In Depends on the Help menu, click Help Topics.
To get help on the view that currently has focus, press F1.
