When you configure Connection Point Services (CPS), you provide security by setting permissions for directory access.

Set up an account with administrative credentials on your Phone Book Service (PBS) host.

Manage Users; Active Directory

Add a user account on your PBS server for posting phone books, and make that account a member of the Guests group. Disable this user account from logging on locally and from logging on through Terminal Services.

Set permissions early; Create a local user account; Add a member to a local group; Deny log on locally; Deny log on through Terminal Services

Configure the FTP service for specific users for use when posting phone book data.

Set up FTP accounts for known users

Set permissions for the PBS folder (Windows NTFS file system only).

Set permissions for the Phone Book Service folder (NTFS only)

Set Write permissions for FTP.

Set the Write permission for the FTP virtual directory
