Manage, monitor, and remediate records
The Overview, Content explorer and Activity explorer in Data classification provide information before any decision on what retention policies, retention labels, and retention label policies to create.
Go to Microsoft Purview compliance portal and select Data classification to view the classification results.
The following cards from the overview page are relevant to records management:
- Top sensitive information types.
- Top retention labels applied to content.
- Locations where retention labels are applied.

The records tagging report shows the count of the content tagged as a record or non-record. The report also shows the percentage of content tagged as a record versus non-record.
Go to Microsoft Purview compliance portal > Reports to view this report.
