Bring back the Acrobat 5.0 interface

Am I the only one who finds the Acrobat 6.0 interface to be somewhat alien in the world of the Windows desktop?  Acrobat 5.0 felt much more like a native Windows application.  Acrobat 6.0 feels like something I’d get with a Java application trying to be platform agnostic.

For similar reasons, I don’t use the Zinio magazine reader on my TabletPC, either.  While I’m probably missing out on some great experiences on my TabletPC, I just can’t bring myself to use the non-standard UI.

I like the new softer interface but I HATE the taskbar icon. I don't know why it bothers me so bad but it does.

Well, the one thing that REALLY annoys me is the start up time of Acrobat Reader. Why on earth is there any with a program that basically loads a file and displays it?!? Beyond me...

Here Here, Can't stand the new interface. Though you can make it real quick by removing plugins, its those that make it slow. There is a doco somewhere on the net that tells you how to speed it up by removing un needed plugings, google for "speed adobe reader 6 load"

I agree with the start up time. Its pretty easy to see that they want to neutralize the platform. Heck, the run advertisements to that effect. I'm guessing those DLLs that load are their implementation of DRM, etc. Kind of geeky if you ask me unless your eyes have the ability to watch minute text changes that occur in near-real time. <g>

Except for some rare occasions, I find Acrobat 5 working quite well still, and have used the plugin moving trick for long time. Only thing I find irritating with the A5 is that sometimes it hangs the IE when there's some problem in network or something. There are a few plugins that should not be removed to keep it functioning for viewing in web browser for example.

I agree. The interface was so grotesque, I decided to roll back to 5.1 and stay there until Adobe changes it back.
