Description

The Disable-DnsServerPolicy cmdlet disables Domain Name System (DNS) server policies. You can disable both query resolution policies and zone transfer policies. Specify a single policy by name. If you do not specify a name, this cmdlet disables all policies for the zone or domain that you specify.

Examples

Example 1: Disable a zone level policy

PS C:\> Disable-DnsServerPolicy -Level Zone -Name "Policy07" -ZoneName "EuropeZone"

This command disables a zone level policy named Policy07. This policy can be either a query resolution policy or a zone transfer policy.

Example 2: Disable a server level policy

PS C:\> Disable-DnsServerPolicy -Level Server -Name "Policy22"

This command disables a server level policy named Policy22.

Example 3: Disable all zone level policies

PS C:\> Disable-DnsServerPolicy -Level Zone -ZoneName "EuropeZone"

This command disables all the policies in the zone named EuropeZone.

Example 4: Disable all server level policies

PS C:\> Disable-DnsServerPolicy -Level Server

This command disables all the server level policies.

Parameters

-AsJob

Runs the cmdlet as a background job. Use this parameter to run commands that take a long time to complete.

The cmdlet immediately returns an object that represents the job and then displays the command prompt. You can continue to work in the session while the job completes. To manage the job, use the *-Job cmdlets. To get the job results, use the Receive-Job cmdlet.

For more information about Windows PowerShell background jobs, see about_Jobs.
