Marketing Setup Window

Specifies how you want to set up your contacts, campaigns, segments, interactions, opportunities, and to-dos. This includes default and duplicate search settings and numbering rules. It also includes the setting that you use when you want to enable Microsoft Dynamics NAV to integrate with Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

General FastTab

On the General FastTab, you specify options for how you want to store attachments.

Note

The ability to specify attachment storage type or location is not available for this release.

Inheritance FastTab

On the Inheritance FastTab you indicate whether or not Microsoft Dynamics NAV should use information that you have set up for a company for contact persons within the company. For example, if you select the Address Details check box, Microsoft Dynamics NAV copies the address information from the company contact card to the address information for the contact cards of persons within that company.

Note

If you are using the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics, you must clear all check boxes, or else you may encounter synchronization issues with contact information.

Defaults FastTab

On the Defaults FastTab you specify the options that you want to set by default in all of your marketing efforts. For example, you can specify the correspondence type that you want to be assigned automatically to contacts when they are created.

Interactions FastTab

In the Interactions FastTab, you specify the language ID you want to use when editing merge field information in Microsoft Word.

Synchronization FastTab

On the Synchronization FastTab, you can enable the synchronization of contact cards with vendor, customer, or bank account card information. In the FastTab, indicate the appropriate business relationship code. In addition, in this FastTab, you can set up synchronization of data in Microsoft Dynamics NAV with that in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. To do so, you select the Enable Connector check box. Select it to enable integration between Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics CRM. To complete the integration process, you must exit and then start Microsoft Dynamics NAV again.

Important

After you enable the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics, you must restart the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server. After you select or clear the Enable Connector check box, all users must reopen the RoleTailored client to connect to the database. For more information, see the "Enabling Web Services to work with the Microsoft Dynamics Connector" section in Troubleshooting: Integrating using the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics.

Numbering FastTab

The Numbering FastTab contains the number series you can set up as defaults in marketing. For more information, see Create Number Series.

Duplicates FastTab

In the Duplicates FastTab, you specify options for how you want Microsoft Dynamics NAV to treat duplicate contact information.

E-Mail Logging FastTab

On the E-Mail Logging FastTab, you specify how you exchange emails with contacts, and how often Microsoft Dynamics NAV checks for email communications. To use this feature, you must also enable e-mail logging. For more information, see Logging and Tracking Email Interactions.

For more information about a specific field, select the field, and then press F1.

Tip

For more information on how to navigate in the user interface, see Work with Microsoft Dynamics NAV. For assistance in finding specific pages, see Search.
