Allocation Quantity Field, Gen. Jnl. Allocation Table

Specifies the quantity that will be used to calculate the amount in the allocation journal line.

Here is an example in which a user has defined a dimension as Department:

If you want rent to be calculated by the number of square feet that the various departments of a company occupy, then the square footage of the current department should be entered here.

The program will make a running calculation of the line's percentage share of the total square footage. The total square footage is the sum of the Allocation Quantity of all the allocation journal lines. From this figure the program automatically fills in the Allocation % and Amount fields.

Instead of filling in this field, you can fill in the Allocation % or Amount fields.
