Microsoft Lync 2010 SDK is designed for software developers who intend to build custom Microsoft Lync 2010 applications or embed collaboration functionality in line-of-business (LOB) applications that interoperate with other custom Lync SDK clients or Lync 2010 and Microsoft Lync Server 2010. By using Lync 2010, a developer can provide instant messaging (IM), voice, video, application sharing, and meeting session functionality in a custom client or LOB application.
Microsoft Lync 2010 API combines Lync 2010 API UI Automation with the functionality of Microsoft Unified Communications Client API.
Microsoft Lync 2010 SDK includes the following components:
Lync 2010 API.
Lync 2010 SDK documentation.
Microsoft.Lync.Model.dll managed assembly exposes project types.
Microsoft.Lync.Controls.dll and Microsoft.Lync.Controls.Framework assemblies expose Microsoft Lync 2010 Controls that are integrated into a Microsoft Silverlight or Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) project.
Lync 2010 Controls integrate Lync 2010 features such as search, presence, IM calls, and voice calls, into applications.
