Storage-Class Specifiers

The C++ storage-class specifiers tell the compiler the duration and visibility of the object or function they declare, as well as where an object should be stored.

  1. The mutable keyword may be considered a storage class specifier. However, it is only available in the member list of a class definition.

  2. Starting with Visual C++ 2010, the auto keyword is no longer a C++ storage-class specifier. For more information, see auto Keyword.
