The Windows CE 5.0 Networked Media Device Feature Pack enables you to create a variety of media devices for the home. The following sections show some of the devices that are made possible with the new functionality added by this feature pack.

In This Section

  • Networked media device
    A Networked Media device (NMD), along with Windows Media Connect (WMC), allows media stored on a remote Windows XP computer to be played back on a compact device anywhere in the house.
  • Set-Top Box
    Set-top boxes allow TV reception over the air, over cable or from satellite, of regular and digital programming. They also serve as a base for increasingly powerful media devices supporting digital video recording, and internet connectivity.
  • The Windows CE 5.0 Networked Media Device Feature Pack
    The Windows CE 5.0 Networked Media Device Feature Pack enables you to create these media devices.
