Save a certificate request to a PKCS #10 file

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To save a certificate request to a PKCS #10 file

  1. Open Internet Explorer.

  2. In Address, type https://servername/certsrv, where servername is the name of the Windows 2000 Web server where the certification authority you want to access is located.

  3. Click Request a certificate, and then click Next.

  4. Click Advanced request, and then click Next.

  5. Click Submit a certificate request to this CA using a form, and then click Next.

  6. In Certificate Template and Key Options, select the options which you want to use for the certificate request.

  7. Under Additional Options, select the Save request to a PKCS #10 file check box.

  8. In File name, type a file name and click Save.

  9. If you are finished using the Certificate Services Web pages, close Internet Explorer.

Notes

  • To open Internet Explorer, click Start, point to All programs, and then click Internet Explorer.

  • The file is saved to your computer's desktop.
