RichTextBox.OnMouseMove Method
Microsoft Silverlight will reach end of support after October 2021. Learn more.
Called before the MouseMove event occurs.
Namespace: System.Windows.Controls
Assembly: System.Windows (in System.Windows.dll)
Syntax
'Declaration
Protected Overrides Sub OnMouseMove ( _
e As MouseEventArgs _
)
protected override void OnMouseMove(
MouseEventArgs e
)
Parameters
- e
Type: System.Windows.Input.MouseEventArgs
The data for the event.
Remarks
The OnMouseMove method is called before any event handler for the MouseMove event is called. This method allows derived classes to handle the MouseMove event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
The RichTextBox implementation marks the MouseMove event as handled by setting the Handled property of the event data to true.
RichTextBox handles selection in MouseMove event. Derived classes can prevent the RichTextBox from processing the RichTextBox event by setting the Handled property of the event data to true.
Notes to Inheritors
When overriding the OnMouseMove method in a derived class, be sure to call the base class’s OnMouseMove method so that registered delegates receive the event.
