How to avoid setting a default web browser app on Windows 10?

Currently, my settings look like this

Is there a way to leave the default app setting for the web browser unselected, similar to how it is for the photo viewer?

I often need to open links in different browsers depending on the situation—sometimes in Chrome Canary, sometimes in regular Google Chrome, and other times in Edge.

Is there a way to make Windows prompt me to choose an app every time I click a link, like in the attached image?

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Currently there's no built-in setting to set preferred web viewer in Windows OS, however you can block edge redirection by MSEdgeRedirect:

1.Access Github: https://github.com/rcmaehl/MSEdgeRedirect

2.Download and install MSEdgeDeflector.

3.Open Settings and navigate to Apps > Default Apps > Choose default apps by protocol. For URL:microsoft-edge, set EdgeDeflector as the default app.

4.After that EdgeDeflector will ignore Edge and redirect URL to preferred browser.
