안녕하세요.

In 2013, I purchased Windows 8 pro and have been using it ever since.

Since it has been automatically updated to windows 8.1, and 10, I didn't pay too much attention about update until recently.

Last week, due to too low computing power to run PC games these days, I purchased a new PC and try to install the window again with a booting USB which was prepared in Windows 10.

When I tried to reinstall the windows, it required me to input the product key, and I tried the product key which I got when I purchased, it refused to accept my product key and now asking me to purchase Windows 11.

I cannot affort to it and I want to reboot and install my windows 8 version.

Can you please share any tips or supports?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

On the 20th of September last year, Microsoft finally closed the loophole that allowed a Windows 8 product key to activate Windows 10 or 11 on new hardware, since they made that change, it is no longer possible to use the Windows 8 product key on new hardware.

The first problem you may have if you want to install Windows 8 on the new PC is to check if a full set of Windows 8 device drivers are available for the new PC on the manufacturers website, most likely they are not available, and if not, then you would experience many hardware errors on the PC if you install Windows 8.

Also, do you still have your Windows 8 disk, because Microsoft no longer provide an official Windows 8 ISO download.
