Windows 11 23H2 Update Error

What failed: bfs.sys

I've looked all over the internet and can't find any information... I'm looking for a computer master to tell me how to fix it. I can't keep trying this update..

CPU: Intel Core i5 9400F

RAM: 16GB

Where is the Setup.exe file? I cannot find that.

The most successful method to install version 23H2 is to use the Windows 11 ISO.

Please follow the steps, this is then not like re-installing Windows, it is just like an update and your personal files, settings and installed software will not be affected.

When the ISO file completes downloading

Disconnect from the Internet

Disconnect all external devices with the exception of a mouse or keyboard.

Temporarily disable any 3rd party Anti-virus you may have installed

Then, in Windows File Explorer, double click the ISO and then run Setup.exe and select the Install option.

Bfs.sys is related to the storage on your system, go to the support page for your PC or Motherboard on the manufacturers website, then from there, download and install the version of Chipset drivers they recommend and while there, if you do not have your drive encrypted with Bitlocker, check for any BIOS update that may need to be installed

Then check if you can install that update.

I tried that way, but the bfs.sys blue screen came up again and an error occurred.

Double click the ISO you have downloaded, that should mount the ISO as a virtual drive and in File Explorer you should find Setup.exe
