Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Sorry to know about this. May I know if this issue started after a recent update on the Microsoft Word app?
Fatal error on Android.
Dear Microsoft Word Support,
I'm experiencing a formatting issue when editing Word documents on mobile.
I’ve attached a screenshot to illustrate the problem. In the image, you'll notice two lines of space between text. On my PC, I intentionally inserted a double line break: one using the regular Enter key (which creates a paragraph break), and the other using Shift+Enter (which creates a line break). You can distinguish them by the symbols—one is a downward arrow (paragraph break), and the other is a bent arrow (line break).
This formatting works as expected on the desktop version of Word. However, when I open and edit the same document on Word mobile (iOS/Android), the regular Enter breaks are treated as Shift+Enter, and the spacing between paragraphs disappears. The lines become squished together without proper line spacing. The formatting is not preserved, and it's very difficult to work with the document on mobile because of this.
Is there any way to fix this so that the Enter key behavior is preserved when editing on mobile as it is on PC? I would like to keep proper paragraph spacing even when working on mobile.
Looking forward to your support.
Sincerely,
For reference, the mobile device is the Android Galaxy S series (the latest one).
