Hacking Health Code-a-Thon, Vancouver BC, Feb 22-24
Greetings HealthVault Community…! My name is Phil Pennington. I’ve recently joined the Microsoft HealthVault team in a Solutions Architect role with a focus on assisting our partners and customers as they build great HealthVault applications. I’ve always enjoyed this type of role and look forward to the learning experiences that HealthVault will bring into my life. One of the first such experiences is collaboration with the “Hacking Health” initiative underway now in Canada. |
Hacking Health is designed to improve healthcare by pairing technological innovators with healthcare experts to build realistic, human-centric solutions to front-line healthcare problems.
Code-a-Thons are live events that bring together developers, designers, healthcare professionals and entrepreneurs to prototype new applications and tools that foster health and wellness. Teams assemble quickly around a technical challenge. Over the next 2 days, they develop a concept solution or prototype. Teams pitch their products to their peers and a panel of expert judges, who ultimately award prizes for the best of the best.
Throughout each day, participants gain insights from one another, speakers, and sponsors about data sets, APIs, and technology directions. For participants, Code-a-Thons are a great way to meet like-minded innovators and sharpen their skills. Sometimes, it’s the basis for their next venture. For sponsors, Code-a-Thons present an opportunity to quickly develop new projects and discover needed talent.
You are invited to join us in Vancouver, British Columbia, on February 22-24. |
And, of course, contact us if you have a great idea for a HealthVault Application and need a bit of business or technical assistance.
