HealthVault 1405 R1 release
The HealthVault team is busy at work on our next major release that we’re calling “1405”. As we make progress on the incredible features in this release (look for it in early summer), we’ve completed a set of important updates to HealthVault that we’re making available today (what we’re calling 1405 R1). Let’s take a look at the updates!
Global Tooling
Prior to this release, there were distinct Application Configuration Centers (ACC), one for the US HealthVault instance and one for the global HealthVault instance in the UK. Developers would use the US ACC to manage applications targeting the US, and the UK ACC to manage applications targeting worldwide users. In this release we’re pleased to announce that we’re offering a unified ACC used to manage HealthVault applications regardless of the target users of the application. The unified ACC allows global application developers to manage a single version of their application configuration that works across all HealthVault instances in PPE and Production.
Meaningful Use Reports in ACC
We’re making available the capability to download Meaningful Use reports directly from ACC. Many EHRs invoke HealthVault service methods to retrieve reports and integrate the reporting feature into the EHR itself. We’re augmenting this capability and now allow applications to retrieve MU reports using a built-in tool in ACC. Once an application is enabled for MU reports, the “Meaningful Use” tab in ACC allows direct access to the application’s MU reports. See Meaningful Use with HealthVault for more information.
Direct messaging provenance
We’ve added features to HealthVault’s Direct messaging capabilities in support of emerging industry standards created by the National Association For Trusted Exchange (NATE). HealthVault now conveys information about the source of data that’s transmitted over Direct. Recipients of Direct messages sent from HealthVault can determine from a request.txt attachment whether the source of CCDAs and other attachments is the patient, an application, or a Direct address.
Message Center file attachments
Message Center now allows attaching clinical documents, images, and other files when authoring and replying to messages helping users save time when communicating with health care professionals.
