Global Foundation Services
If you love technology and enjoy tackling big challenges, come join the team at Microsoft where we're building one of the largest and most advanced cloud infrastructure operations.
We have more than 100 cloud infrastructure job openings posted this week within the Global Foundation Services (GFS) organization. GFS is responsible for designing, building, securing and operating the data centers and networks that support Microsoft's 200+ cloud services, including Bing, Xbox Live, Office 365, and Windows Azure. Today, I'm highlighting three roles created to help our Data Center Services (DCS) team plan and manage a massive global expansion of our cloud infrastructure.
The DCS team manages worldwide data center facility and server development, including research, engineering, construction, and operations. Led by Christian Belady - who last month received the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry Award from Datacenter Dynamics - this team owns the entire design-to-construction-to-operations process of Microsoft's high availability data centers. The team is currently seeking experts with a variety of specialized skills to join them:
Data Center Network Technician
The Data Center Network Technician will assist data center-based DCS teams with the increasing demand relating to network deployments. This person will work to increase the first-time accuracy of network deployments and efficiency of data center installations, to reduce post deployment escalations and help bridge gaps in network deployments. Senior Data Analyst
The Senior Data Analyst serves as the focal point for data analysis and reporting in capacity management systems across GFS. They'll perform data collection, cleaning and storage to optimize data availability and dissemination. The data analyst also creates models for capacity forecasting and optimization. Senior Telecom Engineer
The Senior Telecom Engineer drives the physical networking infrastructure discipline during design in Microsoft data centers and co-location facilities. This role partners with the operations teams to scope, then evaluate bids and options for physical network infrastructure and optical cabling. The Senior Telecom Engineer considers the operational impacts, deployment, and challenges associated with design implementation. Full Job Description Here
