3D Head tracking

Giving some thought to the Muscular Dystrophy issues faced by a patient with the failing of their muscles.  In one of my other blogs I talked about the use of Kinect to imageimplement an inexpensive Eye Gaze solution for late stage Muscular Dystrophy patients, but even Kinect has some obvious issues, but what about the use of a light inexpensive video camera that might be able to set while giving commands to a service dog or animal.

In the research paper, the use of an off the shelf cameras might be be used.  The basis of this paper is that facial landmarks are not used, which I think could mean that the problems of random drifting of the patient’s face could be overcome.
