Note: For this Cumulative Update release, it is intentional that SQL Server 2017 CU13 is releasing to Download Center on 12/18/2018 and releasing to Microsoft Update Catalog on 1/3/2019. This is to abide with the Microsoft Update No Fly Zone during the end of year holidays.
Note: SQL Server 2017 CU13 regression for Analysis Services (only)
The Analysis Services component of the SQL Server 2017 CU13 hotfix patch can cause certain DAX queries to fail with error: An unexpected exception occurred.
This error can occur in queries using the TREATAS function, common in Power BI generated DAX queries. It is recommended you do not install the SQL Server 2017 CU13 hotfix on computers with Analysis Services instances when Power BI Desktop or Power BI Service is a client querying that server instance.
A fix for this issue will ship in the next SQL Server 2017 Cumulative Update.
