Where to Find Technical Support

Microsoft's official support website is https://support.microsoft.com/. It has all kinds of resources like product FAQs, downloads, searchable KB articles, newsgroup pointers, and ways to reach people to help with your individual needs or feedback.

Unfortunately, I can't give attention to individual customer issues. That's because I work in product design and development, not customer support. Someone has to be focused on that or else we'd never ship anything! So, I'm going to have to leave your questions and comments to MS's official channels which specialize in that. Please keep comments you post here general and about the loader or performance.

    I was wondering if I could ask you a question about the CRL loader? It's not the type of thing support would have any clue about and I'm more wanting your opinion on a quick design issue. If you don't mind, please email me at mikes@xtras.net so I could ask.

    Mike, if support really does not know the answer, they ask us (the appropriate product group) for help (and will then know the answer for next time a customer asks). So, please still go through the normal support channel.

    Hi Suzanne,
    Could you please clarify the following:

    1. In .NET 1.1 if I use Assembly.Load(byte[]), is there any code sharing between successive Assembly.Load calls in same or other AppDomain?

    2. Same question as 1, but also does IHostAssemblyStore provide any advantage here (memory sharing related and more)?

    Are you aware of any limitations with Assembly.LoadFrom that would prevent loading a private DLL from a different parent root directory? Such as: "c:foobarzot.exe" attempting a LoadFrom("c:tempjoe.dll")

    I was referred by Michael Kaplan  

    I have split an Access 2000 Professional DB into a two front-ends and lone back-end.  There is a table that is linked between the three parts of the same DB.  

    In one of the fields in the table, the default date is set for NOW(), but the user-prompted search criteria in the query for the same field is provided as "[Enter QA Audit Date mm/dd/yyyy]".  The query doesn't work because the NOW() default data includes the current time in addition to the current date.  I have to prompt the user "Between [Enter Day of QA Audit Date mm/dd/yyyy] And [Enter Day After QA Audit Date mm/dd/yyyy]" to get the search criteria to obtain all the matching results the user wants.  

    Because the tables are linked, I can't change the default data of NOW() to DATE().

    How can I change the default data for a field in a linked table?  I tried de-linking the table and deleting the table and nothing worked.  I am scared about losing data.  The DB is already deployed in a multi-user environment with real data and I cannot afford to lose any data!

    You have great information on your blog space, however, none of your permalinks in any of your blogs are working for me.  I keep getting server errors on request.

    This is a shame, b/c hence the nature of a permalink, they contain useful information :)

    This blog is amazing both in terms of clarity and depth. Suzanne replies to comments far more than other bloggers of the same caliber, which is real nice too.  I just subscribed to the RSS feed.

    I love how there are loads of support questions as comments on a post asking not to post support questions.  Are we all just running around with our heads cut off?
