Cumulative update package 1 for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1

The Cumulative update package 1 for SQL Server 2012 SP1 is available.

This build number of this cumulative update package is 11.0.3321.0.

from first blog post in July 2011: So expect not only marketing stuff here, we will also post technical articles about new features. Announcement of SQL Server Service Packs and Cumulative Update are posted in other blogs in a shorter time after the availability than in this blog. Personally I would be more interested in posting technical articles about new articles as promised initially.

in the meantime CU2 for SQL 2012 SP1 had been released. this CU2 adds a new feature to SQL 2012 allowing backup databases directly to Azure.

if you've installed CU3 for SQL Server 2012 SP1 and you get issues with SSIS - e.g. opening maintenance plan no longer works - you need to install the following hotfix from KB 2832017: support.microsoft.com/.../2832017
