I have also seen a lot of firewall apps calling internal Apis of tcpip which will be broken now on Vista.

Hmmm... I wonder if this is why XBMC is now unable to access shared folders on a machine running Vista. XBMC is an excellent application for playing audio/video files on a modified XBox (not the 360). See www.xbmc.org
