Microsoft Exchange Online: Unable to delete mail in Outlook and OWA

Issue: Hey, I couldn't delete an email which has subject has GHOST in the subject line.

Solution: We need to Purge the mail using Outlook Web Application.

Applies To:

  1. Only one email causing the issue.
  2. Other emails can be deleted with same email subject.
  3. This is not an issue with the string GHOST string.

Note: Purged mails can't be restored.

Steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Access Outlook Web App https://login.microsoftonline.com
  2. Right Click on Deleted Items.
  3. Choose Recover Deleted Items
  4. Select  the email which has an issue. You may have red x mark in the right side.
  5. In the bottom corner select Purge
