Wiki: How to Use PowerShell to Create a Catalog Page a collection of tags

Wiki PowerShell Item

Summary

This script builds a HTML catalog page based on the tags you put in a list. With this PowerShell script you can quickly create your HTML catalog file with tags of your choice. The file uses a header text file (download here ) and footer text file (HTML) (download here) to add static content at the beginning and the end of the HTML. If you do not want to use the header and footer file, put the file append commands in comment.

The script retrieves the initial author and initial publish date of each article

To Do (next version)

  • fix published date format to universal (now depending on local date time format)

This article is an example of the content the script generates: FIM 2010 Wiki Articles.

In the article, the script generates the part between the horizontal lines.

The static part above the first horizontal line and below the second horizontal line is put in 2 small (HTML) text files, which can be easily edited.
