PageStatePersister.Load Method
Definition
Important
Some information relates to prerelease product that may be substantially modified before it’s released. Microsoft makes no warranties, express or implied, with respect to the information provided here.
Overridden by derived classes to deserialize and load persisted state information when a Page object initializes its control hierarchy.
public:
abstract void Load();
public abstract void Load ();
abstract member Load : unit -> unit
Public MustOverride Sub Load ()
Examples
The following code example demonstrates how a class that derives from the PageStatePersister class implements the Load method to load view state from a persistence medium. The StreamPageStatePersister
attempts to read data from a stream. It uses an IStateFormatter object to deserialize view state data and initialize the ViewState property and the ControlState property, which a page uses to initialize controls. This code example is part of a larger example provided for the PageStatePersister class.
//
// Load ViewState and ControlState.
//
public override void Load()
{
Stream stateStream = GetSecureStream();
// Read the state string, using the StateFormatter.
StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(stateStream);
IStateFormatter formatter = this.StateFormatter;
string fileContents = reader.ReadToEnd();
// Deserilize returns the Pair object that is serialized in
// the Save method.
Pair statePair = (Pair)formatter.Deserialize(fileContents);
ViewState = statePair.First;
ControlState = statePair.Second;
reader.Close();
stateStream.Close();
}
'
' Load ViewState and ControlState.
'
Public Overrides Sub Load()
Dim stateStream As Stream
stateStream = GetSecureStream()
' Read the state string, using the StateFormatter.
Dim reader As New StreamReader(stateStream)
Dim serializedStatePair As String
serializedStatePair = reader.ReadToEnd
Dim statePair As Pair
Dim formatter As IStateFormatter
formatter = Me.StateFormatter
' Deserilize returns the Pair object that is serialized in
' the Save method.
statePair = CType(formatter.Deserialize(serializedStatePair), Pair)
ViewState = statePair.First
ControlState = statePair.Second
reader.Close()
stateStream.Close()
End Sub
Remarks
Classes that derive from the PageStatePersister class implement the Load method to initialize the ViewState and ControlState properties from some persisted format.
