Attach documents, notes, or URLs to records

Use the Attachments page to attach documents, notes, or URLs to records.

  1. Select a record.

  2. On the ribbon, click Attachments. The Attachments for page is displayed.

  3. On the ribbon, click one of the following buttons:

    • Upload Document

    • Add Note

    • Add URL

  4. Enter a description.

  5. Select the type of document that you want to attach.

    Note

    If the type of document that you want to attach is not listed, contact your Microsoft Dynamics AX administrator, and verify that the document type can be used in Enterprise Portal for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

  6. If you are uploading a document, click Browse to locate the document.

  7. In the Restrictions section, specify whether the document, note, or URL is available for internal users or external users.

  8. If you are adding a note, enter the note text.

  9. Click OK.

If you receive an error, the document type may not be defined in the Microsoft Dynamics AX client. Alternatively, the document type may not be configured for access in Enterprise Portal. To resolve this problem, contact your Microsoft Dynamics AX system administrator.
