What's new in Fundraising and Engagement August 22, 2022

Important

Fundraising and Engagement is being retired. Support for Fundraising and Engagement will end at 11:59 PM Pacific Time on December 31, 2026. For more information, go to What’s new in Fundraising and Engagement.

We updated Fundraising and Engagement for both Dynamics 365 and Azure services to improve recurring donation schedule logic and extensibility. This release also mitigates an intermittent behavior that caused unexpected updates on the First Payment Date and Book Date fields of the recurring donation. It also improves the Recurring Donation job in Azure services to prevent incorrect Next Payment Date calculations for the monthly scheduled recurring donations.

Important

Fundraising and Engagement is comprised of Dynamics 365 and Azure services. We highly recommend that nonprofit organizations and partners upgrade to Fundraising and Engagement Azure services version 2.0.3.5 and Dynamics 365 solution version 2.0.3.5 to take advantage of the latest donation and payment improvements.

Item How it worked before How it works now
Recurring donation: First Payment Date, Book Date The audit history showed that these two attributes were intermittently updated with today’s date when the form loaded. The msnfp_firstpaymentdate and msnfp_bookdate fields are now read only, which prevents the fields from being overridden on form load.
Recurring donation: Monthly Schedule The Azure Recurring Donations job calculated Next Payment Date incorrectly for the monthly scheduled Recurring Donations when the Recurrence Start was set as the 1st or 15th of the month. The Azure Recurring Donations job now considers the time zone of the user who created the recurring donation. You must have the updates for Fundraising and Engagement Azure services.

If you're running Fundraising and Engagement with the July 28 or June 30 updates, make sure that any recurring donations created after the update contain expected Next Payment Date values.
Recurring donation: Next Payment Date You couldn't update the Next Payment Date field of the recurring donation with Dynamics 365 business rules. We updated the Power Apps component framework component to enable extensibility of the msnfp_nextpaymentdate field. Now you can update the Next Payment Date field of the recurring donation with Dynamics 365 business rules.

Important

Users with access to Fundraising and Engagement may work with sensitive data. We recommend that administrators and users enable multi-factor authentication to increase the security of their environment.
