How to: Create and Post Job Sales Invoices

You can create an invoice for a job or for one or more job tasks for a customer when either the work to be invoiced is complete or the date for invoicing based on an invoicing schedule has been reached.

To create and post a job sales invoice

  1. In the Search box, enter Job Create Sales Invoice, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Job Task FastTab, fill in any filters to filter the tasks to be invoiced.

  3. On the Options FastTab, fill in the posting date and whether you want to create one invoice per task or just a single invoice for all tasks.

  4. Choose the OK button to create the invoices.

To view an unposted invoice

  1. In the Search box, enter Jobs, and then choose the related link.

  2. Select a job. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Sales Invoices/Credit Memos.

  3. Select the invoice that you want to review. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Open Sales Invoice/Credit Memo.

  4. To post the invoice, on the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Post.

  5. To view the posted invoice, in the Job Invoices window, select the posted invoice document. On the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Open Sales Invoice/Credit Memo

    -or-

    Open the Job Planning Lines window, select a posted line, and on the Home tab, in the Process group, choose Sales Invoices/Credit Memos.

    Note

    You can also view a posted invoice directly in the Posted Sales Invoices window. In the Search box, enter Posted Sales Invoices, and then choose the related link.
