Installing Speech Server

This section discusses how to deploy new installations of Speech Server??in your organization. It also:
- Lists Speech Server components that get installed on your computer.
- Lists hardware requirements and prerequisite software necessary to install Speech Server.
- Discusses how to run Speech Server??deployment tools.
- Discusses how to install Speech Server??on new computers, including how to run Speech Server Setup in attended and unattended modes.
This section is intended for speech application IT professionals who want to install Speech Server using an enterprise deployment topology. Developers who want to set up and run Speech Server on a single computer as quickly as possible might prefer to use the Quick Installation for Developers guide.
What Gets Installed
With the Speech Server installer, you can install the following Speech Server components:
- Server Components ??? Core software that provides speech recognition, speech output, and management of telephony sessions.
- Development Tools ??? Tools used within Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 to develop and debug speech applications. This feature cannot be installed without the Speech Server Components and Administrative Tools features.
- Documentation ??? Product documentation for Speech Server, including setup, development, administration documentation, and managed code reference libraries and code examples.
- Administrative Tools ??? The Administrator console and other administrative tools for Speech Server.
- Data Processing Utilities ??? Tools used to process Speech Server log data.
Installing Documentation and Administrative Tools Only
If you do not want to install all Speech Server components, you can install only Documentation and Administrative Tools by selecting them and clearing all other components check boxes on the Component Installation page of the Installation Wizard. The Administrative Tools can be used to administer Speech Server instances on both local computers and remote computers.
Speech Server system requirements and prerequisites do not apply when you install only the Documentation and Administrative Tools.
