SPView.AllowsField Method

Returns a Boolean value that indicates whether the specified field can be displayed in the view.

Type: System.Boolean
Boolean
For external lists, a Boolean value that indicates whether the field can be displayed in the view. For non-external lists always returns true.

Remarks

For external lists, a finder is executed to return data for the view. In general, the set of fields returned by the view's finder is a subset of the set of fields in the list. For fields not returned by the finder, AllowsField(SPField) returns false.
