Export for Silverlight
Exporting for Microsoft Silverlight gives you the best browser experience in terms of loading times and smoothness of image panning and zooming, but compositions exported for Silverlight can be viewed only on computers that have Silverlight installed. If you want to share your composition with people who may not have Silverlight installed, you can instead choose to export for Seadragon Ajax. For more information, see Export for Seadragon Ajax.
For more information about Deep Zoom in Silverlight, see Silverlight on MSDN .
When you export your composition for Silverlight as a collection of images, you may want to be able to use a lot of Deep Zoom functionality, such as panning, zooming, linking both internally and externally, and using menus and slide shows. Alternatively, you may want less functionality for your collection. You can use templates to determine the kind and amount of functionality that will be available in your exported collection.
Deep Zoom Composer has five different templates you can use when you export your composition:
Expression Blend 3 + Source Use this template when you want to use another application, such as Microsoft Expression Blend or Microsoft Visual Studio, to add functionality to your Deep Zoom Composer collection. With this template, you can easily modify properties in another application without directly modifying the code.
For more information, see the Microsoft Expression Blend User Guide.
Deep Zoom Classic + Source Use this template when you want to be able to pan and zoom your images, but you don't want any additional functionality.
Deep Zoom Navigation (default) Use this template when you want to use the full range of Deep Zoom Composer functionality, including panning, zooming, internal and external linking, menus, slide shows, and tracking page usage. This template is selected by default.
Empty Project + Source Use this template when you don't want any Deep Zoom functionality, but you do want Deep Zoom Composer to create a directory structure for your collection that another application, such as Expression Blend, will easily be able to use to modify your collection.
Tag Browser Use this template when you want to filter your collection by the tags that you added in Deep Zoom Composer, or when you want to arrange large numbers of images on the fly.
Tip
If you don't want to use one of the templates that come with Deep Zoom Composer, you can also create your own templates and import them into Deep Zoom Composer.
Note
If you have set a visibility limit for any image or hotspot in your project, you must export your composition as a composition, and not as a collection. Therefore, you won't be able to specify a template other than Deep Zoom Navigation (default).
