Remarks
The primary scenario for this attribute is to recommend prefixes for mappings, which are used for development environments and tools that produce or consume XAML.
Silverlight uses this attribute to decorate core assemblies such as System.Windows, to hint that x is the recommended prefix for the XML namespace that defines XAML itself (https://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml). For Silverlight 4 SDK client libraries, the attribute is used to hint that sdk: is the prefix.
For more information on how to use XmlnsDefinitionAttribute and XmlnsPrefixAttribute to declare XAML namespaces and hint a prefix for designers, see "Applying XAML Namespace Attributes to Custom Assemblies" section of Silverlight XAML Namespaces, and Mapping XAML Namespaces as Prefixes.
