I know that some of you have needs for data redundancy between datacenters (or geographical distribution of SharePoint servers within their farm). Due to technical (latency being a primary concern) considerations, geographical separation of SharePoint servers has long been regarded as unsupported. This has caused considerable issues for those that require DR for core business applications; however a recent case study has been published that discusses the possibility of using SQL database mirroring to achieve SharePoint high availability.
