Frequent OPTIONS Requests from HttpScaleManager Causing 405 Responses and Alerts from our App Service

10th - 11th June we started experience a lot of requests towards our App Service on HTTP port 80. The request used OPTIONS method and did all requests towards ROOT url. The requests came from HttpScaleManager/1.0.0 and from IP 10.0.32.8. There were 1187 requests in the given time period. All the requests returned with response 405 which resulted in alerts from Application Insights monitoring this app. We suspect this traffic was internal platform traffic from Microsoft.

Could someone elloborate on purpose for these requests and how we ideally should handle them?
