Address setup (form)

Use this form to set up address formats for multiple countries/regions.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Country/region |
Select the country/region for which you want to view or add information about address components. |
State or province |
Select the state/province for which you want to view or add information about address components. |
County |
Select the county for which you want to view or add information about address components. |

Select the city to which you want to view or add information about address components. |

Parameters |
Enable validation when you add address information. For example, if you enter the ZIP/postal code 12345 for a customer address, Microsoft Dynamics AX validates that the ZIP/postal code matches information that was previously entered for the country/region, county, and city that are included in the customer's address. |

View, create, or edit address formats for multiple countries/regions. |

Translation |
Open the Translation form, where you can view or enter translations for address components. |
Update addresses |
Open the Update addresses with format changes form, where you can set up a batch job that updates addresses when address formats are changed. |
External codes |
Open the External codes form, where you can create or select an external code that is associated with the selected record for the country/region, state/province, country, or ZIP/postal code. |

ZIP/postal code |
Select this check box to validate the ZIP/postal code when you enter a new address. |
District |
Select this check box to validate the district when you enter a new address. |
City |
Select this check box to validate the city when you enter a new address. |
Address format |
Enter a name for the address format. |
Description |
Enter a brief description of the address format. |
Address application object |
Select the address component that you want to include in the selected address format. |
Separator |
Enter the type of separator that is used between address components. For example, one address format may require a comma between the city, state/province, and ZIP/postal code. Another address format may require a period between each address component. |
New line |
Select this check box to display the address component on a new line. |
Data entry only |
Select this check box to include the address component only when you enter address information. If this check box is selected, the address component does not appear when the address is printed. |
Not active |
Select this check box to exclude the address component from the address. |
Expand |
Select this check box to display the full name of the country/region, state/province, and county when the address is printed. If this check box is cleared, only the codes for the country/region, state/province, and county appear when the address is printed. |
Special |
Select this check box to indicate that the separator for the current address component is the same as the separator for the previous address component. |
Country/region |
Enter the country/region for the selected address format. |
Short name |
Enter the short or abbreviated name of the country/region. |
Long name |
Enter the full name of the country/region. |
Address format |
Select the address format that corresponds to the country/region. |
Time zone |
Select the time zone in which the selected country/region is located. |
Use ZIP + 4 postal code validation rules |
Select this check box to indicate that valid five-digit or nine-digit ZIP/postal codes can be used for the address. |
State |
Enter the name of a state/province that is located in the selected country/region. |
Description |
Enter a brief description of the state/province. |
Time zone |
Select the time zone in which the state/province is located. |
County |
Enter the name of a county that is located in the selected state/province. |
Description |
Enter a brief description of the county. |
City |
Enter the name of a city that is located in the selected country/region. |

Select the state/province in which the city is located. |
County |
Select the county in which the city is located. |
District |
Enter the name of a district that is located in the selected city. |

Enter the name of a street that is located in the ZIP/postal code. |

Enter the lowest street number that is included in the area that the ZIP/postal code covers. |

Enter the highest street number that is included in the area that the ZIP/postal code covers. |
All/Even/Odd |
Select whether the ZIP/postal code includes only even street numbers, only odd street numbers, or both even and odd street numbers. |
Time zone |
Select the time zone in which the ZIP/postal code is located. |
